On October 2, 2025, Thessaloniki hosted a truly special day for the European Group on Insulin and PCOS (EGOI-PCOS), which brought together two major events:

  • the first EGOI-PCOS School,
  • the third biennial EGOI-PCOS Society Meeting.

Both events were kindly hosted by Prof. Nikos Prapas and Prof. Ioannis Kalogiannidis, and attended by more than 50 gynecologists and members of the Society.

First EGOI-PCOS School

The inaugural edition of the School was dedicated to advancing clinical and scientific knowledge on polycystic ovary syndrome (#PCOS).
Speakers Prof. Vittorio Unfer, Dr. Simone Garzon, Prof. Maurizio Nordio, and Prof. Mario Montanino Oliva addressed key topics such as:

  • the pathophysiology and classification of PCOS,
  • current treatment strategies,
  • the frequent link between PCOS and infertility.

The School’s mission was to provide participants with scientifically rigorous training while ensuring content directly relevant to everyday clinical practice.

Third biennial EGOI-PCOS Society Meeting

In the afternoon, the Society held its third biennial meeting, a roundtable dedicated to the adolescent patient. This population often faces challenges in receiving a clear and accurate PCOS diagnosis, leading to uncertainty and confusion in both patients and clinicians.

The discussion emphasized the need for:

  • clearer diagnostic criteria,
  • tailored management approaches for adolescents.
  • Looking to the future

The success of the first School and the third Society Meeting confirmed the importance of combining scientific education with multidisciplinary dialogue. The strong participation and the high quality of the discussions demonstrated once again the commitment of the EGOI-PCOS community to improving care for women with PCOS.

We sincerely thank all speakers, members, and participants for their valuable contributions.
